The Early Years

HomePro has traded on the internet since 14th February 2000. Around that time, HomePro also negotiated the purchase of a North West based business called FairTrades that had relationships with thousands of quality Trade Professionals.

The combination of these relationships with the vision of HomePro has produced what is today the UK's largest directory of quality ranked Home Improvement Professionals.

The combined business now has experience of home improvement related services dating back to 1983.

In 2001 HomePro created a sister brand called HomePro Insurance, which has fast become the leading provider of home improvement protection insurance products in the UK. HomePro Insurance was recognised for its efforts in insurance when it was awarded "The Insurance Times Award for Innovation" in December 2002.

Building Up To A Bright Future

In January 2005 HomePro was one of the first companies in our sector to achieve FSA authorisation.

In 2006 FairTrades was welcomed into the Government backed initiative TrustMark, which is supported by consumer protection organizations and the building industry. Again we take our customers forward as all members of TrustMark are inspected and approved before being able to trade using the logo.

We opened the doors on the Trade Discount Club bringing new innovative services and extra value to the Home Improvement companies of the UK. The service was started in 2006 working with B&Q and Speedy Hire. We now also offer commercial vehicle deals, and a free web hosting facility for all Group members.

During 2007 we acquired the Incorporation of Plastic Window Fabricators and Installers (IPWFI) as an expansion of our market share in the Insurance Backed Guarantee market place.

The HomePro Group Expands Its Reach

IPWFI Ltd has traded since 1991, offering both insurance backed guarantees and deposit indemnity protection to the home improvement industry on a wide range of products ranging from windows, doors, and conservatories, in UPVc, Aluminium or Hardwood, to soffits and fascia's.

With a membership base comprising of double glazing companies, some small local businesses to some of the largest in the UK, we have gained an excellent reputation and are well recognised as well as respected throughout our industry sector.

As an Appointed Representative of HomePro Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority, and through our partnerships with other organisations, we are able to provide a wide range of benefits for our members.
